Visceral Manipulation

Visceral Manipulation (VM) is organ specific fascial mobilization focused on restoring natural movement within the internal organs (viscera). Your organs are hard at work keeping your body functioning at all times. From breathing, digesting, eliminating, walking, stretching, and bending- we need optimal motion for optimal function. When that movement is restricted, however, is when problems can arise. Visceral Manipulations gentle manual therapy can evaluate and treat tension in the body by restoring movement where it is constrained.

Our organs are situated in our body via ligaments, fascia, turgor and pressure systems. Movement can be lost or restricted due to trauma, stress, inflammation, surgery, etc.

Restrictions in organ movement can cause referred pain, nutrient loss, decreased energy, and many other vague symptoms that can leave you confused and frustrated.  Even our emotions can be affected when your body’s systems aren’t in sync.

That’s why whole-body therapy is key for optimum health.

Conditions Treated by Visceral Manipulation

  • Chronic Neck Pain: Reduces cervical pain by improving organ mobility.

  • Motor Coordination Impairments: Enhances musculoskeletal function through improved visceral alignment.

  • Post-Surgical Dysfunction: Addresses adhesions or scar tissue affecting organ movement.

  • Stress and Emotional Difficulties: Releases tension stored in visceral tissues for better emotional health.

  • Digestive Issues (e.g., Colic): Restores proper gastrointestinal motion for improved digestion
