ABOUT

My Road to Rolfing

I never saw it coming. In 2009, I was driving about 70 mph when a deer ran out in front of me. While I was thankful to be alive, the crash left me with debilitating whiplash that upended—and eventually changed— my life.

I sought care from my chiropractor which helped, but it wasn’t until I was referred to a Rolfer that I started to experience lasting pain relief. I was surprised by how the practitioner worked with muscles on the inside of my legs and how that improved pain in my neck. That’s when I realized just how interconnected the entire body truly is! As my body got more into balance, I noticed that Rolfing was also resolving old injuries I’d assumed I’d always have to live with.

From Personal Crisis to Purpose Calling

I’ve always known I wanted to help others and explored industries including nutrition supplement/vitamin sales, where I opened and managed offices across the Midwest, and later I earned my license to become a life insurance agent. But I still wasn’t sure I was doing what I was meant to do. Then, my life turned upside down in 2018.

My husband and I had only been married for six months when we were devastated to learn that he had End Stage Renal Disease. Fortunately, he received a life-saving kidney transplant, but this frightening experience gave me a renewed perspective, driving me to get clear on what I really wanted in life.

I started having conversations with my Rolfer, who had been helping me with various issues over the years. The more questions she answered, the more it became clear to me that this was my calling.

I enrolled in the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute in Boulder, CO in 2020 where I trained and became certified as a Rolfer. With my desire to help people improve the quality of their lives coupled with my entrepreneurial spirit, I opened Body Dynamics Rolfing.

My Philosophy

I know from personal experience that pain can stop us from living a life that’s fulfilling and meaningful. That’s why I’m focused on creating a nurturing, healing environment that helps you achieve a more balanced state so you can embrace life with enthusiasm and energy.

From quality sleep, exercise and nutrition to regular bodywork, I believe that staying consistent about caring for yourself helps you feel more optimistic every day. It improves all aspects of your life, helping you feel good in your body while also experiencing greater mental clarity and stronger relationships.

Embracing Life’s Adventure

My husband and I have overcome plenty of illness and loss during the years that we’ve been together, but it has only strengthened our relationship and our desire to squeeze the most out of every day.

We love traveling, including experiencing new cultures and exploring the great outdoors, from hiking in the mountains, water sports and four-wheeling to relaxing on the beach.

Committed to overall well-being, I follow an active lifestyle and embrace a regular self-care practice, which includes relaxing with a good book, soothing baths, strength training and yoga, creating a healthy home, and spending time with the people I love.

Connecting in Healthy Community

I’m a LMT, a member of the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute, and I’m currently pursuing continuing education with the Upledger Institute for CranioSacral Therapy. An active part of the Kansas City community, I collaborate with other local business owners for area events. I also belong to the Wellness Consortium, which includes wellness practitioners and vendors across the metro who are passionate about whole-person health and have a heart for making a difference in people’s lives.
